June is always a full month with the end of school, the soccer season, and the start of summer vacation.
I had my last day volunteering in Eden's class on June 1st. It was so fun to help out in Eden's class this year. Eden had the best teacher! Eden, Lincoln and Annika all had the same Kindergarten teacher. Mrs. Corl is the best teacher I have ever seen. I hope I can volunteer next year. It was always a highlight of my week and the kids were so sweet.

Kimball and Rebecah both had awards nights....on the same night! Joseph had to rearrange his schedule so he could attend Kimball's awards ceremony so I could attend Rebecah's. If Joseph hadn't been able to switch work shifts I was going to have to try to attend both events which would have been very difficult.

Rebecah received awards for being on the Honor Roll all through 7th grade and throughout the 3 years of middle school. Next year Rebecah will move up to the Junior High.

These next two pictures are with Rebecah's longest running friendships. The first picture is with Maria. She lived behind us when we moved here and Melanie was in Rebecah's Kindergarten class. I love long lasting friendships!

One Saturday everyone was gone except Eden and me. Lincoln and Annika were at birthday parties having fun, so Eden and I went out for ice cream.

Lincoln and Annika went to LeMoyne college to see a production of The Naked Mole Rat by Mo Willams. They were both very excited! The first pictures are from Lincoln's class and then Annika's class.

We had a first in Syracuse this month. The wildfires in Canada really affected our air quality. This is the first time anyone in Syracuse remembers this happening. According to the Weather Channel app the air quality was near 200. The air was so hazy and smelled of smoke. Here is a picture of the sun trying to break through the haze. All outside and after school activities were cancelled for three days. We had a repeat of this at the end of June, although the air quality was only 180 and the air didn't smell of smoke.
The soccer season ended. It was a good season and for the most part we lucked out with pleasant temperatures. I don't think I was overly hot for any of the games.

Our last soccer game of the season it was pouring rain! We had made it through Lincoln and Annika's and Rebecah's games. Just as Eden's game was starting, it started to rain. I do not like being wet so it felt like a VERY long game, even under an umbrella.

A few months ago Annika collected come spare change from her friends on the bus. She decided to use the money to buy some diapers and donate them to the local diaper bank. The diaper bank provides diapers and formula to families in need in the area.

Father's Day! The best part of Mother's Day and Father's Day are seeing the fun crafts/cards the kids make. I loved the key chain Annika made at her Primary activity.
Joseph and I went to Clue the play. It was well done and very funny. I hadn't seen the movie or played the board game for over two decades, so watching the play was kind of like a stroll down memory lane.
The last day of school! We made it to the end of the school year. Kimball got out of school on June 13. The next week was for Regents exams while grades K-7 still attended school.
On the last day of school some of Eden's friends from preschool got together at the park for an end of year Kindergarten party. She had a lot of fun.
There is a farm about five minutes from our house. It's strawberry season so I took the little ones strawberry picking. They each had their own box. The strawberries were really good, even if it was an expensive outing. Buying strawberries is cheaper than picking them!
The last week in June was Young Women Camp. Rebecah wasn't overly excited about attending. Her back is still bothering her from track season and none of her friends from church were going. She still had some fun.
Saying goodbye to Levi. Levi's family has lived in our neighborhood for the last five years while his dad was doing a medical residency. He moved at the end of June so we had him over for two play dates before he left. Levi was in Eden's class at church and they rode the bus together to school. Levi was always excited to go to "Eden's mom's house" so we had him over to play twice the week before he left.
