We had one last good-bye to Summer vacation two days before school started. We went out for ice cream and had a much better experience than earlier in the Summer when we bought ice cream and then a storm came through while we were eating!
School started on September 5. It felt really late since the kids started on a Thursday and usually they start on Wednesday. Kimball and Rebecah are in the 7th and 4th grades respectively. They have settled into their schedules and classes.
Lincoln and Annika started preschool the following Monday. They go three days a week and love it. They are so grown up they rarely tell me good-bye when I drop them off and just walk in and know what to do. I love that they posed themselves in this first picture!
Rebecah had a back to school barbecue one night and Open House another. Her teacher is a man and that's a first for her. She was a little nervous about that at first, but now she really likes Mr. Wright. Rebecah decided to play the clarinet this year. Fourth grade is the first year kids can start taking instrument lessons at school. She is doing very well with her clarinet so far. Her piano teacher in on maternity leave until January so this gives Rebecah a slight piano break while she starts the clarinet, although she still practices the piano a few times a week.
Kimball is playing on the 7th/8th grade Modified Football team. He is the full back and enjoying his experience. He hasn't complained about practices and seems to be getting better. The team has a
1-1 record so far. We attend his home football games.
These are just some fun shots of the other kids. We had a beautiful September so we spent a lot of time outside. Joseph took the three middle kids to a SU soccer game one evening. Eden had a play date with her friend Maggie. Pretty princesses!
These next pictures are from preschool. I love that the school puts pictures on Facebook so I can see what my kids do at school. I love it.
Joseph was pruning some of our trees one day and Lincoln climbed the ladder when he found it unoccupied. He felt very tall!
Kimball planned the Boy Scout Camp out for September. He went shopping for the food with some friends. He also prepared fajitas for everyone to eat.
Joseph took Kimball out to eat before they attended a special Church meeting.
Kimball was very excited about his meal. He even offered to share his
leftovers with me which I thought was nice of him.
We are now ready for October which starts the holiday season for us.
We are gearing up for 4 birthdays within 1 week.
