I can't believe February is over already! What a fast month!
Kimball had his first youth temple trip this month. Someone from church was kind enough to offer to watch the other 4 kids so Joseph and I could both experience this first with Kimball. People who willing volunteer to babysit kids are my heroes. I'm not one who can take on a lot of extra kids without feeling crazy. This sweet couple havs 4 kids of their own and then offered to watch 10 other kids so the parents could be in the temple with their oldest children. Kimball enjoyed his first experience in the temple and is eager to go again in April.
Joseph and Kimball together outside the temple. Kimball with his friends who were all attending for the first time.
I'm not sure why we waited to do the pictures until it was dark, but we did.
I love this sweet face dressed up as Gecko! I couldn't resist taking her picture.
One evening my little girls just wanted to sit and snuggle with me, so we did. Edie wanted to be wrapped in a blanket. She loves to pretend she's a baby and she'll pretend to cry so I hold her like a baby. She's a funny one.
Rebecah and Kimball both went to the eye doctor this month. Rebecah now wears glasses and she is SO excited. Kimball didn't love his new glasses quite enough...he left them at the ski resort when Joseph took the big kids skiing. We told him he'll just have to deal with his old glasses until next year because we aren't buying another pair of glasses this year! He wore his sports glasses skiing and forgot to put the new glasses in a safe location.
Here are two more casual shots. Annika wanted me to take a picture of her on her bed. Eden made this little paper hat at the library during story time.
The kids had a week off from school for Winter Break. We tried to plan some fun activities since we didn't leave town. Kimball had musical rehearsal 2 days so we worked around his practices. We went to the movies and out for dinner. I took the big kids bowling and they had fun. Thank goodness for bumpers! I wouldn't do very well if I didn't use bumpers!
Joseph took the big kids skiing one day. It was Rebecah's first time and she was nervous. She did really well and had a lot of fun. While they were gone I took the little kids to McDonald's for lunch and to play in the play place. I ordered one meal and it was like pulling teeth to get the three of them to eat the food...playing was just more enticing! I'm glad I didn't waste my money buying meals for everyone! Besides our trip to McDonald's we also went to the library and they had a play date at the house of one of their surrogate Grandmas. They were very adamant that I drop them off and leave. They didn't want me sticking around. Eden was glad to be included in the play date.
Skiing! Rebecah is in the chair behind Joseph and Kimball.
We also celebrated Valentine's day. I made a turtle pie for dessert. The kids enjoyed their parties at school. I have decided that school Valentine parties are just a waste of money! We had some really warm days in February, but we ended on a cold note with a lot of snow the last 4 days of the month.
